Step-by-step: Add a watermark in Camisual

  1. 1

    Upload your image

Sign in at camisual.com, create a new design, click "Add" in the top menu bar and then "Upload Image". Your photo opens on the canvas.

  2. 2

    Add a text watermark

Click "Add" then "Add Text". Type your watermark text, for example your name, website URL, or copyright notice. In the left Text section, choose a clean font and set the colour to white or light grey.

  3. 3

    Reduce the text opacity

With the text object selected, find the Opacity control in the left panel. Drag it down to around 30 to 50 percent. This makes the watermark visible but non-intrusive.

  4. 4

    Position and rotate the watermark

Drag the text to the desired position on the image, typically lower-right or centred. You can rotate it diagonally using the rotation handle that appears when the object is selected (drag the circular handle at the top).

  5. 5

    Add a logo watermark (optional)

Instead of text, upload your logo PNG via "Add" and then "Upload Image". Place it on top of the photo and reduce its opacity to 30 to 50 percent. Position it in the corner.

  6. 6

    Tiled watermark pattern

For a repeating watermark, duplicate the text object multiple times (Ctrl+D) and arrange instances across the image in a grid pattern. Reduce all instances to 20 to 30 percent opacity.

  7. 7

    Export the watermarked image

Click "File" then "Export". Choose JPG for photos (smaller file size) or PNG if you need transparency. Your image downloads with the watermark embedded.

Choosing the right opacity

For stock photos or images you are sharing online before licensing, 40 to 60 percent opacity makes the watermark clear and hard to remove digitally. For finished display images where you want a subtle credit, 20 to 30 percent opacity is enough to be legible without being distracting.

Tip

Place your watermark over a high-contrast area of the image where it is harder to crop out or clone-stamp away. Avoid placing it on a plain flat-coloured area which is easy to remove.
