Ease of use
Canva wins on first-time ease of use. Its drag-and-drop template system lets a complete beginner produce a polished design in under 5 minutes. Camisual has a steeper initial learning curve because it gives you raw tools rather than filled-in templates. However, once you understand the mode switcher (Select, Draw, Shape, Erase, etc.), the workflow is fast and logical.
Template library
Canva has hundreds of thousands of templates for social media, presentations, CVs, and marketing materials. Camisual currently has a smaller template selection. If template-based speed is your top priority, Canva is the stronger choice. If you are creating original designs with full control, templates matter less.
Drawing and illustration tools
Canva does not have a brush engine or drawing tools suitable for digital illustration. Camisual has three drawing modes including Expressive mode with pressure-sensitive brushes, stabilisation, and 10 brush types. If you draw digitally, sketch illustrations, or create original brush-based artwork, Camisual is the only option of the two.
Shape and vector editing
Canva shapes are fixed. You can resize and recolour them but you cannot reshape them. Camisual shapes are fully editable with bezier curve handles. Select any shape, click "Edit Vertices", and drag handles to curve any edge into any custom form. For logo design, custom icons, and brand-specific graphics, this is essential.

Canva Pro includes background removal but counts it against an AI credit allowance. Camisual includes background removal as a standard feature with no credit system.

Canva has a Magic Eraser tool for removing objects from photos. Camisual has the Objects tab in the Image Editor which does the same thing by painting a mask over the area to remove.

Canva offers upscaling on paid plans. Camisual includes AI Upscale and Super Resolution tabs in the Image Editor as standard features.

Image adjustments
Canva offers basic photo filters and a limited set of adjustment sliders. Camisual's Adjust tab has a more complete set: brightness, contrast, saturation, vibrance, tint, highlights, shadows, sharpness, and noise reduction, plus a one-click Auto Enhance.
Pricing
Canva Free is limited in key AI features. Canva Pro costs around $15 per month per user. Camisual has a free tier with access to core tools, and a Pro plan at a lower monthly rate than Canva Pro. No credit card is required to start.
Verdict
Choose Canva if you need a huge template library and speed-first template filling for common formats. Choose Camisual if you need real drawing tools, bezier shape editing, more powerful AI image tools, or a lower price point with professional capabilities.
