Email header dimensions
Standard email clients render content at 600px wide. A header image is typically 600px wide and 150 to 250px tall. Camisual lets you set a custom canvas to exactly these dimensions.
Step-by-step: Create an email header
- 1
Set the canvas size
Sign in at camisual.com, click "New Design", and choose Custom Size. Enter 600 wide and 200 tall. Click Create.
- 2
Set a brand background
In Shape mode, draw a full-canvas rectangle and fill it with your brand primary colour. Keep it simple since email headers work best when clean and uncluttered.
- 3
Add your logo
Upload your logo via "Add" then "Upload Image". If needed, use the Image Editor BG tab to remove any white background. Position the logo on the left side of the header.
- 4
Add your company name or newsletter title
Add a text object with your company name or newsletter title. Use a clean font at 28 to 36pt. Position it to the right of the logo or centred if using the logo alone on the left.
- 5
Add a campaign title or issue label (optional)
A smaller text line such as "Monthly Digest" or "Issue 12" adds professionalism. Keep it at 14 to 18pt in a lighter colour.
- 6
Export as PNG
Export as PNG at 600px wide. Upload this image to your email tool (Mailchimp, ConvertKit, etc.) as the header block of your email template.
Keep it simple
Email headers should load fast and render cleanly across every email client. Avoid heavy gradients or complex designs that may look different in Gmail versus Outlook. Solid colours and clean typography work best.
Export at 2x the pixel dimensions (1200x400) and tag the image with display dimensions of 600x200 in your email tool. This gives retina-quality rendering on high-DPI screens.
