Step-by-step: Design a sticker in Camisual

  1. 1

    Set the canvas size

Sign in at camisual.com and create a new design. A 1000x1000px square canvas works well for most sticker designs. Do not add a background so the canvas starts transparent.

  2. 2

    Create your sticker artwork

Design your sticker graphic using shapes in Shape mode, drawn artwork in Draw mode, or uploaded images. Keep the design bold and simple since stickers are small in real life and fine details are lost.

  3. 3

Remove backgrounds from any photos used

If your sticker includes a photo, open the Image Editor via "Edit Image" in the left Images panel, go to the BG tab, and remove the background. This ensures the sticker cutout is clean.

  4. 4

Add a white border (die-cut outline)

To give your sticker the classic white-bordered die-cut look, duplicate your main artwork shape. Select the duplicate and go to the Shape section. Remove the fill and add a thick white stroke (8 to 15px). Move this bordered duplicate to a layer below your main artwork in the layer panel.

  5. 5

Add text or a small logo

Optional: add your brand name or website at the bottom of the sticker in small text. Keep it compact so it does not overpower the main design.

  6. 6

Export as transparent PNG at 2x

Click "File" then "Export". Choose PNG and select 2x scale for a high-resolution output at 2000x2000px. This gives sticker printers enough resolution for a sharp physical print at sizes up to 4 inches.

Sending to a sticker printer

Most sticker printers accept PNG files with transparent backgrounds for die-cut stickers. Popular services like Sticker Mule, Printify, and StickerApp all accept PNG. Upload your exported file and their tools will use the transparency to define the cut line automatically.

Tip

Add a 2mm bleed extension around the white border. If your sticker template has a white background in the online proof, that is the printer adding it for preview purposes only. The cut will still follow the shape of your artwork.
