Twitch banner sizes
Twitch profile banner: 1200x480px. Offline screen (used as your stream preview when offline): 1920x1080px. Panel images below the stream: up to 320px wide with any height. Camisual lets you set a custom canvas size for each of these.
Step-by-step: Create a Twitch profile banner
- 1
Set up a custom canvas
Sign in at camisual.com and click "New Design". If there is no Twitch banner preset, click "Custom Size" and enter 1200 wide by 480 tall. Click Create.
- 2
Add a dark background
Switch to Shape mode and draw a full-canvas rectangle. Twitch channels typically use dark backgrounds (deep purple, black, or dark navy) since the Twitch interface itself is dark. Fill your rectangle with a dark solid colour or gradient.
- 3
Upload your character or avatar
Upload your stream character, avatar, or a photo of yourself. Remove the background using the Image Editor BG tab so the figure sits cleanly on your custom background.
- 4
Add your channel name
Click "Add" then "Add Text". Type your channel name or streaming alias. Use a bold, readable font at a large size (60pt or above). Game-inspired or sci-fi fonts from the Camisual asset library work well for gaming channels.
- 5
Add stream schedule or tagline
Add a second text object with your streaming schedule or a short tagline. Keep this smaller at around 24 to 30pt.
- 6
Add icons for social links
In the left Library panel, search for social media icons and add small icons for your Twitter, Discord, or YouTube. Position them in a row near the bottom or edge of the banner.
- 7
Export as PNG
Click "File" then "Export". Select PNG for crisp graphics. Upload in your Twitch channel settings under "Profile Banner".
Offline screen design
For the 1920x1080 offline screen, use the same design system as your banner but with more breathing room. Add a central message such as "Stream starts soon" or "Be right back" in large text. This is also a great place to show your schedule.
Keep your banner designs consistent with each other: same fonts, same colour palette, same character art. Twitch viewers should instantly recognise your channel identity across all graphics.
